Exquisite German Dueling Pistol

This is a beautiful example of the fine workmanship of the famous Kuchenreuter Gun making Dynasty. ” Bartholomeus. Kuchenreuter” is inlayed on the top of the barrel. The lock is marked with the place of origin, “Regensburg”. This specimen was made without a ram rod accommodation. This I believe speaks to a dueling or target pistol. It appears to be approximately .50 cal. The engraving and woodwork, as well as the very fine checkering is stunning. It was made to be finished off for either a left- or right-hand owner. It is truly a beautiful piece.
